London Bridge Place
London Bridge Place

Perspective from Borough High Street

Along with the Shard London Bridge, London Bridge Place will complete the London Bridge Quarter. Even before it has been built the building has a number of unofficial names, inlcuding One London Bridge House, the Baby Shard and The Gem.

Adjoining the much taller Shard London Bridge, London Bridge Place is also owned by the Sellar Property Group and was designed by Renzo Piano. Planning permission was given in 2006 for a 600,000 sq ft (55,740 sq m) office and retail building, while an updated design was approved in 2007.

The building will provide high quality office space, with typical floors of over 30,000 sq ft (2,787 sq m) each. Access to the offices will be through an entrance lobby located on a new piazza with a new entrance to London Bridge Underground Station and a new bus station incorporated into the design.

Work to demolish New London Bridge House will commence in May 2009 and will be completed within 9 months.
